Buying Brazilian reais in South Florida
Broward County is home to one of the largest Brazilian communities in the United States, and many families travel back and forth to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and the rest of Minas Gerais. In Brazil, Pix has become the everyday way to pay, but a visitor without a Brazilian bank account usually can't use it, and cash still covers the taxi from the airport, beach vendors, street markets and tips.
Order from home, pick up nearby
Choose reais in the quoter and you see today's rate and the total in dollars before you place the order; the rate then holds for 24 hours. For customers in Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach or Boca Raton, our Coral Ridge Mall store in Fort Lauderdale is usually the closer pickup, open 11 AM to 7 PM, and coming from Pompano is a drive down Federal Highway. In Miami, pick up at Bayside Marketplace from 9 AM to 7 PM.
Costs and payment
Online orders start at $300 and have a $5 processing fee, shown at checkout before you confirm. Pay by ACH bank transfer or in cash at pickup, and bring a valid photo ID. Pickup at either store is free; FedEx delivery to a Florida address costs $24 for 2-Day or $29 for Overnight, and orders placed after 5 PM Eastern Time are processed the next business day.
When reais need to be sourced
Reais are subject to availability. If we can't fill your amount from stock, it becomes a special order: 3 business days, a $500 minimum and a $10 fee, plus a $100 deposit by Zelle or ACH within 24 hours if you'll pay cash at pickup. Holiday seasons fill up fast, so order early.
