Zone guide

You're already in the right part of town. The kiosk sits inside Bayside Marketplace at 401 Biscayne Blvd, open 9 AM to 7 PM, and this page points you at whichever route is yours: Bayfront Park on foot, Brickell up Biscayne, Wynwood down it, Miami Beach over a causeway, MIA from the west, or the cruise terminals about seven minutes out.

Bayside isn't the landmark next door. It's the address

Type currency exchange near Bayside into a phone and you'd expect a list of storefronts a few blocks off. Ours isn't one of them. The counter is inside Bayside Marketplace itself, kiosk T5514 at 401 Biscayne Blvd, in among the shops. That changes what near means depending on where you're standing. If you're in the Marketplace, or over at Bayfront Park, you're not driving anywhere, you're finishing the walk. From anywhere else in Downtown, Brickell, Wynwood or across a causeway, Bayside is the destination itself rather than a waypoint beside it. We're open 9 AM to 7 PM every day.

  • Kiosk T5514, 401 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132, inside the Marketplace rather than across the street from it
  • Open 9 AM to 7 PM, with 65 Google reviews behind the kiosk so far
  • Something you'd rather ask before you set out? +1 (954) 593-3756 rings the kiosk directly

Start from wherever you actually are right now

Treat this page as the index for the zone, not the full account of every trip into it. Downtown and Brickell come up Biscayne. Wynwood drops south along the same road. Miami Beach crosses a causeway, MIA comes in from the west, and cruise passengers have the shortest run of anybody, with the terminals roughly seven minutes off. Every one of those starting points already has its own page carrying the route, the parking notes and what's worth settling before you leave, so take yours from the links below rather than reading all six. If you're not sure which one fits, the directions page walks through the main approaches to the kiosk in order.

  • On this side of the bay: Bayfront Park is a walk, Brickell comes up Biscayne
  • From the north or east: Wynwood and Miami Beach each have a page of their own
  • Flying or sailing: MIA from the west, cruise terminals about seven minutes away

One window serves the whole zone, so settle it before you're in traffic

There's no second counter of ours a few blocks over, and that's the practical thing to know about exchanging money around here. Everything in this zone routes to the same window, which means the things you'd normally sort out on arrival are better sorted while you're still sitting down: which currency, how much, and which direction you're going, since we work both ways, dollars out to foreign cash and leftover cash from a trip back to dollars, across more than 70 currencies. Walking up while we're open is fine. Starting the order online is the version where your amount is already set aside under your name when you get here, and the rate you agreed to at checkout stays good for the next 24 hours. The one thing worth a phone call first is a large amount, because those run on an appointment.

  • More than 70 currencies, bought and sold, at the single counter on this side of the bay
  • Reserve online and your checkout rate stays good for 24 hours, or walk up while we're open
  • Call ahead on a large amount so it isn't being counted while you stand there

Where this zone ends and Broward picks up

The Downtown zone has a northern edge, and it's worth knowing roughly where it falls, because plenty of people drive south when their day never asked them to. Our other counter is Coral Ridge Mall in Fort Lauderdale, 3200 N Federal Hwy k4, open 11 AM to 7 PM on +1 (754) 715-6081, with 210 Google reviews. Geography decides most of it: once your day is running around Port Everglades, FLL, the Fort Lauderdale beach or Las Olas, you've left this zone and Coral Ridge is the counter that belongs to yours. The clock decides the rest. The two counters close together at 7 PM but they don't open together, so anything before 11 in the morning is a Bayside errand no matter where you're staying.

  • Coral Ridge Mall, 3200 N Federal Hwy k4, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306, open 11 AM to 7 PM
  • Both counters close at 7 PM, but Coral Ridge doesn't open until 11, so mornings belong to Bayside
  • Broward counter line: +1 (754) 715-6081, and the team up there works in English and Spanish too

The rest of the Bayside pages, and when each one earns your time

This page hands you the shape of the zone. The detail sits one click deeper, and which page you want depends on what's still unsettled. If the open question is finding the kiosk once you're inside the Marketplace, or where to leave the car, that's the directions page. If it's whether you'll make it before we close, or which stretch of the day is quietest, that's the hours page. If it's what we actually do at the window and which currencies we work in, that's the Bayside exchange service page. And if the question is your particular route, the neighborhood pages below take Bayfront Park, Brickell, Wynwood, Miami Beach, MIA and the cruise port one at a time.
